“Linda Stasi of the New York Post had the opposite reaction: “The new ‘Melrose Place’ is as good and sometimes better than the old ‘Melrose Place.’ Think of it as a renovation, or in L.A. terms, a face-lift. In fact, the new tenants actually made me forget the old tenants rather quickly. Well, I didn’t forget all of them, because two of them are back but in a new format. Now the series is an ongoing whodunit.””
“Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribune said, “Given that I was never a big fan of the original ‘Melrose,’ which ran on Fox 1992-’99, I can’t say whether this one is better or worse. I just know that in a fall season that’s about to get very crowded indeed, this remake will have to work harder than this to keep my attention.””
“Said Matthew Gilbert of the Boston Globe, “I ‘like’ the new ‘Melrose Place’ in that I think it has the potential to be as addictive, and phony, as a can of Pringles potato crisps. The trashy CW series has none of the hokey moral quandaries of the show that precedes it, ‘90210,’ no lesson-learning unless you’re a student of chicanery and double-dealing. The new ‘Melrose Place’ is just a mess of gossipy plotlines about adultery, murder, and secrets. If it has a moral compass, the arrow is stuck pointing down, to hell.””
Addictive and phony as a can of Pringles potato chips?
Please. Everybody knows Krunchers is what keeps you running to the drugstore at 3 in the morning.
She’s just signed on to be artistic advisor at Emanuel Ungaro, French fashion company.
“A designer only-led fashion house isn’t enough, so we’re adding a super consumer who gives us a direct channel to consumers,” said Ungaro CEO and president Mounir Moufarrige.
Can we call Mounir Mou Mou?
According to Mou Mou, Lindsay is perfect for the job because she’s nothing but fashion at home.
“Her home is like a department store,” he said. “You have to sit on the floor because the settees, chairs and tables are covered with clothes and accessories.”
Floor and tables scattered with clothes and accessories?
Maybe Lindsay’s home just looks that way because she’s always getting robbed.
Mou Mou added that Lindsay will provide an “electric shock” to the fashion label that’s been aging faster than a dated Playboy model who’s already 22.
Comments Off on Janet Jackson Harper’s Bazaar: Michael’s Mom Away From Mom
Janet Jackson tells all in an exclusive interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine in the October 2009 issue.
Janet served as Michael Jackson‘s mother when their mother Katherine was away from home.
“He’d have the same red shirt, the same black pants, the same white T-shirt. Mike was very simple. When I was 14 years old, I would shop for him. [Michael was then 21.] I washed his clothes, cleaned his room. When mother would go out of town, she’d say, ‘I’m leaving you in charge. Take care of Mike.’ I would head home from school, see what he needed, then go straight to the stores.”
Twenty one years of age and still asking mom to do the laundry?
Despite fame, Michael wasn’t too different than most men.
“You have to forgive me, because it’s really hard to believe he’s passed,” Janet said, as she referred to talking to him in the present at times.
Comments Off on Antonio Banderas On Melanie Griffith: It Was Never Rehab Or Me
Antonio Banderas is denying the allegations that he gave wife Melanie Griffith an ultimatum-go to rehab for your addiction or I’ll divorce you.
Maybe he just threatened to stop wearing his sexiest pair of thongs around the house.
“It was said actually in some magazine that I said that I gave an ultimatum to my wife,” Banderas said. “That I present the matter of divorce because she has been involved in addictions and blah, blah, blah. Melanie has been addicted for many years and we always came out. We said it out loud. It was okay, we were never embarrassed of the situation but what happened she was clean and sober for six years.”
Banderas said his wife was involved in a skiing accident about a year and a half ago and she needed pain medications.
Comments Off on Kate Gosselin Rejects Playboy, Hugh Hefner The Angel
If the TLC show falls through, Kate Gosselin won’t have a pin up career to fall back on.
The Jon & Kate Plus 8 star reportedly turned down an offer of $400,000 to pose for Playboy.
Jon Gosselin would have paid that much just to take his shirt off and get on a magazine cover.
“Hugh sent her a letter, but Kate was totally mortified and threw it away!” a source told Star Magazine. “She didn’t think it was appropriate because of the children.”
Comments Off on Michael Jackson Kids To Be Homeschooled
A source has revealed that the decision has been made not to enroll Michael Jackson‘s children Michael Jr., Paris, and Prince at the Buckley School where Tito‘s children attended.
Instead the children will continue to remain homeschooled with a private tutor.
The kids will get as close to a normal school routine as possible, including a designated lunch break and field trips.
The family is even building a playground with a volleyball court.
Most children’s ideal setting for school would indeed have been Neverland.
